With over 40 years in the Hospitality Business from humble beginnings starting in a Caravan Park to the Head Chef of State Banquets at the age of 21 at The Guildhall in the City of London cooking for dignitaries such as The Queen, President Mitterrand & Mrs Thatcher to Michelin Stars and now heavily involved in the world of wine, Roger has that rare ability to combine his culinary skills with his wine knowledge.
Roger is the Consultant Editor to The-Buyer.net .Wine Consultant to The Caterer, Ambassador to The Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships, Judges The Taittinger Sommelier of The Year Competition, The Decanter World Wine Awards for Australia, and contributes to numerous Wine Journals including the monthly panel tastings for The Decanter Magazine. Roger together with his wife Sue set up The Harrow at Little Bedwyn 20 years ago and has held a Michelin Star since 2007.
Roger travels widely as part of his journalism and food and wine consultancy business, together with the three International competitions he has set up; The Tri Nations Wine Challenges, The Mamba Riedel Decanter Awards and Sparkling Sunday. Last year his travels took him to California, Greece, New Zealand, Portugal, South Africa, Spain and Wales.
Over the last 4 years both Roger and Sue have been heavily involved in promoting the wines of South Africa, from hosting Pop Up Dinners at The Vineyard Hotel in Cape Town to launching their own label (Jones Family Collection) wines 2 years ago from two sites in the Cape Wine lands
Outside The Harrow at Little Bedwyn his Consultancy business has hosted everything from Weddings to Wine & Food Challenges from inside marquees to the South African High Commission, New Zealand House and a host of exclusive venues across the globe.
