Fortnum & Mason held its very own culinary carnival, where customers were given the opportunity to taste dishes from a whole host of Michelin-starred chefs over a fabulous fortnight of feasting in the Gallery Restaurant. Never before has this galaxy of Michelin stars taken part in such an event; each produced their signature dishes, with the focus being on regional produce. Roger & Sue Jones of The Harrow at Little Bedwyn took over The Gallery Restaurant on a Wednesday & Thursday , and catered for nearly 500 people over 2 days.
The fourth Chefs Night Out Gala Dinner raised over £125,000 for Ty Hafan, Roger was delighted to be auctioned off at the end of the night for £10,000 to cook dinner for 10 people in a private house, he also generously gave the running up bidder his services for a further £5,500.The third of our sensational Gala Dinners saw Chefs’ Night Out set up at the refurbished Parc Hotel by Thistle in Cardiff. It was a huge success and raised over £10,000 for Ty Hafan on a Monday night! The three Welsh Michelin Star Chefs based in Wiltshire (Roger Jones, Hywel Jones & Richard Davies) and The Park House team were amazingly generous to Chefs Night Out and Ty Hafan, but particular thanks must go to Roger and Sue Jones who spearhead the whole event after Roger had recently taken over the Consultency Chef role at The Park House. Roger ran the London Marathon tied to 49 colleagues to raise over £100,000 for SCOPE and to achieve a Guiness World Record.Congratulations on your Guinness World Record success!On behalf of Scope we would like to congratulate you on your fantastic achievement. After all of the aches, pains and tears you did it! Running a marathon is something only few of us ever contemplate and actually achieve, so you should be really proud of yourself especially running with 49 runners AND RAISING £95,000 FOR SCOPE.
Roger and Sue commissioned 10 unique Ryan Jones Welsh Dragon Riedel Decsanters to commemorate’s Ryan’s Testimonial Year and these will all be auctioned for various charities including Ryan’s chosen charity of Welsh Guards injured in Afganistan.We are delighted to say that the first Decanter went for £4,0000, which included joining Ryan and Adam Jones for a private dinner at The Harrow. The second Decanter went for over £3,000 which includes Dinner with Ryan again at The Harrow but this time joined by Lions Captain Sam Warburton.
Roger has been a supporter of Ty Hafan Hospice for 4 years, and has helped launch 2 cookery books and numerous charity events to raise funds. Roger has visited the Hospice on numerous occasions including on New Year’s Eve together with his friends Rob & Jane Jane to cook for parents…
